Founded in 1915, Kiwanis International is a thriving service organization of men and women dedicated to meeting the needs of children.  More than 13,000 clubs in nearly 100 countries make their mark by responding to the realities in their communities and pooling resources to address worldwide issues.  Through these ongoing efforts, Kiwanis truly is "Serving the Children of the World."

In the summer of 2006, men and women in Verona who had a history of and/or interest in serving area youth gathered to talk about establishing a Kiwanis club in "Hometown U.S.A." Following a series of organizational meetings, the Kiwanis Club of Verona was formally chartered on August 31, 2006.

Understanding that many people today have difficulty finding the time to "join another club," the Kiwanis Club of Verona creates a contemporary model for community service work that focuses much more on informality and flexibility, and less on formality and requirements. This allows anyone to contribute to the work of the club, regardless of their current commitments. Members and "friends of Kiwanis" in the Verona area are unified in their passionate belief that children and their communities benefit tremendously from the efforts of an energetic group of caring and involved volunteers.
